A long, lovely day

Today was our last day of Christmas vacation. I am happy for school to be starting again but not happy about being bound to a schedule.

We had Denali's birthday today, and for the first time I hired out all of the party prep to a children's play area. Jungle Java in Round Rock had some understaffing issues when we arrived but by the end of the party time I was pleased. They took care of everything, including cake and goody bags, the kids had a great time, and I got to leave and go home to my (relatively) clean home.

Afterwards I got to watch a few extra kids (actually they watched my kids and I got office work finished), and we got to eat quesadillas and cupcakes for dinner.

Lastly I was privileged to read two AWESOME books and write reviews for them. If you have been reading my blog for any time at all you know how tickled I am to find new chapter book authors for my kids. I've got two new ones to share: Milly-Molly-Mandy and Grandma's Attic. Visit my book review blog and see the joyousness.

Tomorrow Denali turns 5. I will officially be the parent of two kids and no toddlers. Life is amazing. I am honored to be along for the ride.

Wow, I can't believe Denali is 5! They grow up so fast! Glad you guys had such a fun family day and a pretty stress free birthday party.
